Time for another check-in post. We are in the home stretch….9 more days. How are you doing? Many of you have told me that the challenges are helping. You send me pictures of piles to donate. I love these emails and blog comments! You’ve also said that you plan to revisit the posts in the coming months because it’s a lot of ground to cover. Even better news!
I set out to challenge you to think differently about your stuff. My goal was to show you how this can transform your life. A life of living simply because what we have is Simply Enough.
I’ve done a lot of organizing challenges over the years and I didn’t want to just write about socks and coffee mugs. We grow weary from decision fatigue. My holistic approach to clothing and dishes helps fend off indecision and gets you to the finish line faster and easier.
Let’s use today to collect all the donations you have accumulated. Ready for your next challenge? Here you go!
Decluttering Challenge Day 23
- Do another Clean Sweep of the house.
- Pack donation boxes, document the items for tax purposes and seal the boxes with tape. I like to use talk to text on my phone instead of writing. Then, snap a picture of the donation pile. Save the list and picture to a tax folder on your computer or Evernote. Load the boxes in the car.
- Schedule a donation pickup to come to your home. Use this date as a deadline for any items you are trying to sell. Just scheduling a pickup inspires me to declutter.
- Plan a day to run errands but don’t buy anything. Go to Goodwill, donate books to the library or give one to a friend, return any lingering Christmas gifts. Just return – do not shop. 🙂
- Use Freecycle or Buy Nothing to pass items on to people in your community.
How many boxes are leaving the house? Help inspire others and share your pictures on my FB page with the hashtag #SimplyEnough2018.
